Sigismund Neukomm or Sigismund Ritter von Neukomm [after ennoblement as a knight] (10 July 1778, in Salzburg – 3 April 1858, in Paris) was an Austrian composer, conductor and pianist. He was a transitional figure between the Classical and Romantic periods of music.

Amédée de Beauplan (11 July 1790 – 24 December 1853) was a 19th-century French playwright, composer and painter. Much of his family (including his father), close to queen Marie Antoinette's entourage, was executed during the French Revolution. He composed hit songs, including Le Pardon and Dormez, mes chères amours, and the famous Leçon de valse du petit François (1834) sung in cabarets for over a century (in particular by George Chepfer), and two opéras comiques: L'Amazone, after Scribe, Delestre-Poirson and Mélesville (1830) and Le Mari au bal (1845). He also authored several vaudevilles, novels, fables and painted some pictures between 1833 and 1842. He was Arthur de Beauplan's father (1823–1890), also a playwright.

Edward James Loder (10 July 1809 – 5 April 1865) was an English composer and conductor. His best remembered work is perhaps the 1855 opera Raymond and Agnes, though his most successful opera during his lifetime was The Night Dancers.

Henryk Wieniawski (pronounced [vʲɛˈɲafskʲi] ; 10 July 1835 – 31 March 1880) was a Polish virtuoso violinist, composer, and pedagogue, who is regarded amongst the most distinguished violinists in history. His younger brother Józef Wieniawski and nephew Adam Tadeusz Wieniawski were also accomplished musicians, as was his daughter Régine, who became a naturalised British subject upon marrying into the peerage and wrote music under the name Poldowski.

August Topman (10 July 1882 Lõpemetsa – 8 September 1968 Tallinn) was an Estonian composer, organist, conductor. 1904–1919, he was organist in St. John's Church. He was one of the founders of Tallinn Higher Music School (established in 1919). 1923–1950, he was teacher of music theory and organ at Tallinn Higher Music School. 1944–1949, he was a member of Estonian Composers' Union. In 1957, he was given the honorary title: Estonian SSR Honoured Worker in Arts.

Muhai Tang (simplified Chinese: 汤沐海; traditional Chinese: 湯沐海; pinyin: Tāng Mùhǎi; born 1949 in Shanghai) is a Chinese conductor. He is the youngest son of celebrated Chinese film director Tang Xiaodan and brother of painter and poet Tang Muli. Tang initially learned music with his parents, and later studied composition and conducting at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, receiving his diploma in both. He furthered his studies in conducting with Hermann Michael at the Hochschule für Musik in Munich, Germany. His international career started when Herbert von Karajan invited him to conduct the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra during the 1983–1984 season. This invitation was later renewed. He was the chief conductor of the Gulbenkian Orchestra in Lisbon from 1988 until 2001. From 1991 to 1995, he was chief conductor of DePhilharmonie (now known as the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra). He made his US debut with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra in 1988. In 1991 Tang was chief conductor of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra (QSO), the last chief conductor prior to the orchestra's renaming as the Queensland Orchestra. In November 2005, he became the orchestra's conductor laureate. From 2003 to 2006, Tang served as Chief Conductor of the Finnish National Opera. From 2006 to 2011, Tang was artistic director and principal conductor of the Zürcher Kammerorchester (Zurich Chamber Orchestra), and became principal guest conductor in 2011. From 2010 until 2015, he was chief conductor of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra. As conductor, he was awarded the 2002 Grammy Award for Best Classical Contemporary Composition for Christopher Rouse's Concert de Gaudí.
